Bike FAQs
How do Tandem Bicycles compare to regular ones?
Compared to a conventional bicycle, a tandem has double the pedaling power with only slightly more frictional loss in the drive train. It has about the same wind resistance as a conventional bicycle.
What are Cruiser bicycles?
Cruiser Bicycles combine balloon-tires, upright seating posture, single-speed mechanicals, and straightforward steel construction with expressive styling.
What are the difference between road and off-road tires?
The type of tread you want is tied to your normal riding surface. Completely smooth tires are best for racing or for riding on pavement; they intentionally have minimal contact with the road. Knobby tires like you see on mountain bikes are at the other end of the spectrum. Those tires are great for wet or muddy trails, but they require more pedal power because there's more contact with the ground.
What is a Tire Lever?
If you're going to fix a flat tire, you'll need tire levers. These small tools slide under your tire and help pull it off your rim so that you can remove the tube to patch it or replace it with a spare.
What is the best metal for a mountain Bike frame?
Top-of-the-line mountain bike frames are made from titanium, which is super light and incredibly strong. A titanium frame on a mountain bike will be a great choice for large riders because of its ability to handle larger loads without becoming fatigued.
